Richard Wood

Richard composes delicate and intricate wooden constructions and resin casts, the works are wall based and vary from multicoloured to monochrome, frequently contrasting hard lines with natural elements of roughly cut plywood and wood. Richard juxtaposes a suggested three dimensionality with the physical three dimensionality of his chosen material, his interest lies in the area between the surface illusion and the actual material of the object, playing with the perception of what is really there and what is suggested.
