Punam Singh
Punam is inspired by the ever changing and ever evolving nature of gardens and forests. For her, painting and gardening are interrelated. A few years ago, she turned to gardening and forest walks during a difficult phase in her life, and it not only healed, but restored her creativity. Her work draws inspiration from childhood memories of gardening with her parents, and the abstraction in her paintings comes from emotions and memory.
Punam mainly works using acrylics. Her work is colourful and textured to reflect the vibrancy of nature and life. She uses various mediums such as concrete and plaster to create her textured work.
Punam is a self-taught artist. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Communication Media and worked for many years as an ad film director at Grey and Saatchi and Saatchi advertising. After a long career break to bring up a family, her art journey is a new beginning.
