Mariella Hall is a multi-disciplinary artist with a body of work fascinated in bridging the often-separate entities, human and things considered non-human, to create interconnected narratives.
The inevitability of time and decay make ruins of all environments that exist within our periphery. The presence of ruin within our lives and environments echoes the universal feeling of dissociation. A disconnection between ‘us’ and the everything else.
Combining figurative and landscape, her work feeds from this lack of connection. Shaping the static into visceral, morphing human and non-human into one to create absurd interrelationships and at times, unsettling narratives.
