Anna Clegg
I am an artist working between painting, photography, video, sound and internet art in order to build material vocabularies for memory, affect and embodiment, as mediated by technology and the image. My practice aims to emulate the impossible temperature of memory; images that exist not to be grasped by the hand but to be encountered with a glance; through water, across the street, behind ice. The wet haze plaguing the remembered image in cinema, reverb following dialogue like a ghost, seems to forget that memories have access to your body in a way most physical realities don’t: they exist inside the skin.
